"A grounding in the arts will help our children to see; to bring a uniqely human perspective to science and technology. In short, it will help them as they grow smarter to also grow wiser."
Lake-Lehman School District, like most schools in the area, has a pull-out instrumental lesson program. Once a cycle, a band member is "pulled-out" from a regularly-scheduled class for instrumental music instruction.
RESEARCH REGARDING "PULL-OUTS"
Regardless of school size and population background, no significant difference was found between the academic achievement of students who were allowed to leave class for instrumental instruction and those who did not.
